Biking- Is easy on the joints, and builds strong leg muscles. It’s can be difficult to find safe and accessible places to ride. Can also be good aerobic workout that benefits the heart and cardiovascular system.



Walking- Is one of the easiest and most convenient of all aerobic exercises. It’s a very good lower body muscle toner. Walking at a brisk pace will also give you a good cardio workout-benefiting the heart, lungs, and circulatory system. It is also a very convenient and natural exercise to help lose weight and control obesity.


Jogging- excellent conditioning for cardiovascular system and strengthens and tones lower body. Very efficient exercise for burning calories and getting the body well conditioned physically. A little bit harder on the joints than biking or walking.



Swimming- Is more of a aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Your intensity level is usually high when swimming therefore it works more on building muscle and strength versus aerobic conditioning. Most average swimmers can’t keep a aerobic pace for 20-30 minutes.


It’s a healthy exercise but it takes a lot of training time to be effective in getting aerobic benefits. If you choose to build strength and cardio together swimming can be an excellent for the whole body. Most don’t lose weight swimming as it tends to be more intense and less aerobic.



Ballroom dancing- This is an excellent aerobic exercise when done regularly for 20-30 minutes a session and also 3-4 times a week. It is also a wonderful exercise to do with your significant other.


Skiing- Good aerobic conditioning exercise if you live in a climate where you can develop a regular exercise program.



Rowing machines- Good flexibility exercise, strengthens heart and builds muscle at the same time. It does tend to get boring and some have trouble sticking with it.



Golf- Is an excellent if you can sacrifice the cart and walk the course. 18 holes of golf and you burn quite a bit of calories and get an excellent lower body workout. A great exercise to control weight if you do it regularly.
