Motorized Treadmills | Higher Speeds and Durability
Motorized treadmills are seen on the market much more often than non-motorized treadmills. These treadmills power the treadmill belt to move at varying speeds in order to give you a proper cardiovascular workout. It is a fact that challenging workouts are needed in order to cause the heart to pump faster in order to condition itself.
This type of cardiovascular exercise should be done on a daily basis or at least three to four times per week. A good motorized treadmill is just one of the ways that this can be done effectively. Most treadmills have very few moving parts aside from their motors. This means that they are quite easy to maintain.
They are not completely maintenance free; at times they will need some lubrication or some tightening here and there but for the most part, they are easy to have around. Some treadmill motors are noisy and at times exercisers complain about this. Perhaps they like to listen to music or watch TV as they exercise but have a difficult time hearing their entertainment over the sound of the motorized treadmill. To remedy this, some treadmills are now being made with quieter motors.
Often these motors are not quite as powerful as the louder treadmills but if they are being used for exercises such as walking this is not a problem. Other treadmills have more advanced motor technology and have better components to help keep the noise level down. These treadmills can still run at comparable power to other treadmills only with less noise.
Motorized treadmills can challenge a runner or a walker to move and to exercise beyond their current abilities and speeds. As you go through your programmed workout and the treadmill speeds up it may cause you to run at a pace that you may not have pushed yourself to move at had it not been for the motor increasing the speed for you. Some exercisers find it difficult to run at faster paces even though their fitness level would allow it. Having a motor increase the speed for you helps to add that challenge to your exercise program.
